We got home Wednesday afternoon. All in all, a nice vacation. It seemed to get hotter and hotter, the further south we drove. The damp northern air definitely agreed with Joe. Here we have the AC running full-blast, which makes things rather arid… But, we'll cross our fingers that Joe will steadily improve with age… He had his weigh-in today, and he packed on two and a half pounds over vacation, tipping the scales at 16lbs 6oz… Not bad at all… He's still not eating much in the way of solids, but showing a little more interest. He's just waiting until he's got some teeth… 🙂 He likes to gnaw on a banana, and he seems to like butternut squash… savory…
Florence is glad to be home. She missed Daddy. She's been a lot calmer the past couple days. I think having been away from all her toys for a month makes them all seem new and exciting. She's spent hours just playing in her room… Today we went and signed her up for swimming lessons at the YMCA. She's also going to be taking a music class, and an art class. I never thought it could be so easy to over schedule a four year old.
Anyway, Darren and I just watched a movie called Basic, with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. It was one of those military whodunit movies. It was fairly intruiguing and kept us guessing until the last minute. I'll give it one thumb up.
So, back to life, back to reality… the vacation is over. Bah humbug…
