The long weekend has been relaxing. We haven't accomplished much in the way of household stuff, but we've enjoyed just hanging out together. Today we went to a Labor Day picnic with a group of homeschoolers at a local park. We were having a nice time until Darren, in the middle of a game of kickball, sprained his ankle. Actually, it's his achilles tendon, where he has an old injury from the Army, and it just kind of popped and went out from under him. He was in a lot of pain, so we ended up spending the rest of the afternoon at the VA Medical Center having his foot examined. Apparently, nothing is broken or damanged beyond repair, but he's supposed to take it easy for a week or so and keep off his foot. He just got the DVD collection of the first season of the original Star Trek, so he's taking advantage of his time on the couch to watch a few episodes.
I've been reading The Da Vinci Code and have about 20 pages left, so I'm headed off to finish it up. I give it two thumbs up!
