We went to upstate New York for a long weekend, because Darren wanted to go to a concert nearby, and a friend of mine, and aunt and uncle live up there, as well. We had a nice visit. My friend, Laura, took me to see a mini concert on Friday night of a local artist named Bar Scott. She and her band are quite talented and her story is quite inspirational. On Saturday and Sunday, Darren and I and the kids spent some time walking around Woodstock and New Paltz, and generally just taking it easy.
Then today, we drove home by way of the outskirts of Philadelphia, stopping at the Whole Foods Market in North Wales, PA for lunch and the Barnes & Noble in Harrisburg, PA for coffee, a stretch and a potty break. Upon leaving the book store, we had difficultly dragging Joe away from the train set in the kids section, and Flo was beside herself because we wouldn't buy something she wanted. So, after that short interlude, we were happy that there was only a little over an hour left of our trip.
Darren still has two more days off, so we plan to stick around home and possibly tackle some larger organizational challenges, such as our disaster of a master bedroom closet. So, we've had a nice weekend, and the fun is not over yet!
