The past couple weeks seem to have been really busy with activities, and sleep has been disrupted a bit with the new puppy, as well as Joe, who seems to be up at least twice a night all off a sudden. So, I'm feeling a bit run down. Nothing new.
Bruno, our new puppy is sweet… a little timid, but we've really been enjoying him… Unfortunately, the past couple days, Joe seems to have started to react to him a lot more… He's been covered in hives since last night. We know he's allergic to dog saliva, but with Chip, it's never been a problem, because Chip doesn't lick EVERYTHING, and Joe knows to stay away from his mouth. But, a puppy is a different story. Joe likes to feed him treats, pick up his chew toys, and the puppy is always snatching their toys and clothes, so there's probably dog saliva everywhere. This didn't occur to me, as we've always been able to manage with Chip. We'll give it a few weeks more and see how it goes, but I really don't know what I'd do if Joe was covered in hives all the time. Today his eyelids swelled up… it's kind of disturbing. I can't even entertain the possibility that we wouldn't be able to keep Bruno. It's just too upsetting. Hopefully, we'll find a way to minimize Joe's exposure.
Darren has a three day weekend coming up. We plan to go to DC tomorrow and then on Sunday we have church and our vegetarian potluck in the afternoon. So, I'm hoping Monday can be a day off, where we just hang out at home and catch up on stuff… good plan, anyway.
I am so sorry to hear about Joe! I hope that you can come up with a solution. Could you limit the rooms that Bruno is allowed to roam? I wish I could help you some how. If you have any ideas on what we could do to help you be less stressed, etc…just ask!
