In Search of the Best Photo Album Service…

Over the years, we've amassed a large collection of digital photos. I like the setup I have with our photo album on our website, but it's just a script loaded on my site linked to a database. Nobody else could access the files if needed. I'd love to transfer all of our photos to an online photo storage service that offers web albums that can be integrated into the look and feel of your website, as well as, offers the feature to order prints. The problem I've run into with almost all of them is that they don't allow you to edit the "date taken," and most of my files were incorrectly labeled because my camera date was incorrect. Thus, if I want to my files organized by date, they're a mess. For several months now, I've been searching, and have yet to find a perfect service. Zenfolio was the recent close contender, but the date thing kept me from being really excited about that one. So, the search continues… If you know of a great service, let me know!

Not much new in our neck of the woods. I hit the 12 week mark in my pregnancy, and I have my first appointment with a midwife this week. I found a local practice that has certified nurse midwives, which is at least something. I met with the nurse a couple weeks ago, and she assured me they are very supportive of natural birth (or whatever the mother's birth plan is). Though I'm not a hundred percent excited about this route, I'm glad to have made a decision and just not think about it anymore. It was kind of stressing me out. So, we'll see how my first appointment goes.

Darren is working a lot… still waiting for the work-at-home program to start up again, or to hear about some of the jobs for which he's been applying. It seems like it may be a long process, but then again, one never knows. Buffalo, New York was his most recent application. Hmm…

It's been a quiet month, with a lot of time at home, as it seems like every time we had a playgroup or playdate planned, someone got sick. I guess it comes with the time of year. Flo was sick last week, so we're hoping for good health this week, so we don't have to cancel playgroup again. I think I miss the social contact more than the kids. Flo plays with our neighbor's daughter a lot, and another little homeschooling friend down the road, so she's not too socially deprived, despite the lack of planned activities lately.

Well, off to enjoy a few minutes of quiet before the kids start arguing about going to bed… Good night!
