Another seemingly uneventful day. Well, that’s if you call raising three kids and doing housework uneventful. And I hate to say that nothing remarkable happened today, because each day is filled with unexpected amusements and challenges. But, I’ll just say that nothing unusual or particularly stressful happened today. In fact, I actually made a quick trip to Wal-Mart to purchase white t-shirts for a tye-dye session we’re going to tomorrow at a fellow homeschooler’s house. I hate Wal-Mart, and generally only resort to going there if it's 2am and nothing else is open, or if it will significantly minimize the amount of times I'll have to get the kids in and out of the car. Usually, a trip of this nature would result in a near nervous breakdown on my part, followed by a lot of yelling and screaming on the kid’s part. Nevertheless, we survived that adventure without much commotion, and even continued on to the grocery store to grab a few necessities, and nobody begged for anything or had a meltdown. Flo quizzed Joe on his Spanish vocabulary while I was doing the self-checkout, and we departed without too much anxiety on my part. Bravo!
Darren got home and I made veggie burgers for him and the kids, and then he held the baby while I got in a half hour on the treadmill. It was raining again tonight, and I couldn’t walk outside, which I prefer. Though, I’m sure the treadmill is a better workout because I have to keep up a decent pace or be thrown off. Hey, that’s kind of like a metaphor for my life!
