Road Trip

We went to New Brunswick, Canada for the long weekend… We (Darren, and his siblings) all conspired to suprise his parents for the Thanksgiving weekend (it's Thanksgiving in Canada) by getting everyone together in one place. This hasn't happened in almost ten years. It was great to see everyone, even though it was brief, and it feels like we spent the majority of the weekend in the car. On the road again…

Darren and I cruised around uptown Saint John and found our dream home on Germain Street, just up a block or so from the city market… ah, dare to dream… This street just has real charm…

Tomorrow we're closing on a loan… we're refinancing our home for fifteen years, instead of the original thirty. I'm not sure this is going to help at the moment, as our mortgage is going to go up quite a bit, but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and real estate is generally a good investment. We firgured now that we're in our thirties, it's time to get a little more responsible with our finances. Nice theory, anyway.

Well, Flo's pestering me to get her something to eat, so off I go to slave away in the kitchen… ya right. Hasta la vista.
