Wow… where did that year go? Tomorrow is my 31st birthday… I feel like it was just yesterday that I turned 30. It was a very challenging year with Joe getting sick and moving, etc. I'm hoping for a more balanced and relaxing year for 31. Darren and I are going to take advantage of Grandma being here to maybe go out to dinner and/or a movie tomorrow night to celebrate. Looking forward to that.
My mom's leaving on Thursday… she's had a nice visit. She's stayed down the street at a hotel because they don't allow pets in our apartment, and she's travelling with our dog, Chip, whom she temporarily adopted. It was nice to have some company to break up the monotony of sitting in this apartment waiting for our house to be done. But, thankfully, the weather's improving and I'll be able to get out with the kids a bit more.
Yesterday, we went to church at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick. We checked out the one in Hagerstown, which is where we'll be living, a couple weeks ago, but it's very small, so there's not much of a religious education program. Even though the smallness is nice in terms of knowing everyone, we decided to check out a larger congregation about 25 minutes away in Frederick. This is the second week we've gone and it seems like a great place, with lots of programs and open-minded people. I'm glad to have found someplace to make some connections.
Well, I'm off to take Flo to the playground. It's actually in the 70's here today!
