While listening to an advertisment on the radio about my local cable company, I heard that a new DVR service is available. It allows you to record many hours of programming onto a hard drive in the cable box, and access it whenever you want to through the cable menu. I don't have a very extensive list of TV viewing needs, but I do have a few programs that I like, and generally miss, because they are on at times when I'm usually doing something more important than sitting on the couch watching TV. But now, I can schedule the things I want recorded, and watch them undisturbed and guilt-free, late at night when the kids are in bed, and I'm not cutting into our together-time. Whoever created this feature must love mothers!
Today I had a dentist appointment in DC, so my mom came along to watch the kids during my appointment, and then we were going to walk around for awhile before meeting Darren after work. Well, it rained quite heavily all day, and we ended up spending most of our time in my mom's van. But, it wasn't a total loss. We got to have dinner at BD's Mongolian Grill in Bethesda. We went once a long time ago, and have been wanting to try it again. Yum. Then we stopped at Whole Foods Market in Rockville on the way home for some snacks for the weekend. From there, the traffic wasn't too bad, so it only took about another hour to get home. It was a nice day, but a lot of driving. I think we're going to spend the weekend at home, and minimize car travel.
I have a mounting to-do list between home projects, homeschooling stuff to organize, personal creative endeavors and mundane household chores. I'm looking forward to a couple days around the house to try to get on top of some of this stuff. We have to run to the post office in the morning, to send off Joe's passport application. Apparently, both parents have to be present with photo ID's. So, hopefully, we'll finally get that done, and Joe will be cleared for international travel. Ooh-la-la.
Nearing the brink of physical and mental exhaustion… must sleep. Have a great weekend! Good night!
