Happy Thanksgiving

This is the day to reflect on those things for which we are thankful, and TRY to ignore, if only temporarily, the petty annoyances and irritations that often overshadow the acknowledgement of our gratitude. Once again, I'm thankful that I have so much to be thankful for; family, friends, health, abundance, and the list goes on.

I have been searching for historical information on Thanksgiving for the kids, but there seems to be much debate about the actual history of Thanksgiving, depending on whom you ask. So, we will just focus on the intent behind the holiday, rather than it's historical accuracy. I found a neat link to a place in Dallas called Thanks-Giving Square that tries to keep the spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving alive all year round. What a cool concept. I'll have to add visiting there to my "Life To-Do List."

Since it is just a few minutes into the acutal day of Thanksgiving, I'd better get to bed, so I have the energy to get up and drive the hour to Bethesda, Maryland for the VSDC Life-Affirming Thanksgiving Celebration dinner for which we registered awhile ago. Assuming the weather is decent, it should be a nice way to spend the day, and avoid cooking.

Have a happy day!
