About Us

We are a family of five from the mid-Atlantic United States.  I guess you can say we fall under the “alternative lifestyle” umbrella, as we homeschooled our three kids through high school.

But, it all began further north when Darren and I (Tara) met in French class, in 1988 at Kennebecasis Valley High School, in New Brunswick, Canada. After five years of dating, some red tape with immigration, and some logistical obstacles, we got married in 1993.

Since then, we lived in Italy, Kentucky, Connecticut and now Maryland, where we raised our family. Darren is a military veteran of Canada and the U.S. and has worked in the civilian sector of the government for over twenty years.

We loved learning alongside our children and are grateful for the experiences we shared during their homeschooling years. We are excited to see where their individual journeys will lead them next!
